Lo standard di razza

As per its name, the Lakeland Terrier is an old english breed origin from the lake region.It probably is a mix between Bedlington and other terriers.It has been officially recognised in 1928.

Head

Well balanced. Length of head from stop to tip of nose not exceeding that from occiput to stop.
Head - skull region

Skull: Flat and refined
Head - facial region

Nose: Black, except in liver-coated dogs when the nose will be liver. Muzzle: Broad, but not too long. Jaws/Teeth: Jaws powerful. Teeth even with perfect, regular scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping the lower teeth and set square to the jaws. Eyes: Dark or hazel. Slanting eyes undesirable. Ears: Moderately small, V-shaped and carried alertly. Set neither too high nor too low on head.
Neck

Reachy, slightly arched, free from throatiness.
Body

Back: Strong, moderately short Loins: Well coupled Chest: Reasonably narrow
Tail

Previously customarily docked. Docked: Well set on, carried gaily but not over back or curled. Undocked: Well set on, carried gaily but not over back or curled. In overall balance with the rest of dog.
Forequarters

Forelegs straight, well boned. Shoulders: Well laid back.
Hindquarters

Strong and muscular. Thighs: long and powerful. Stifles: Well turned. Hocks: Low to ground. Metatarsus: Straight.
Feet

Small, compact, round and well padded.
Gait / Movement

Fore-and hindlegs carried straight forward and parallel. Elbows move perpendicular to body, working free of sides, stifles turning neither in nor out. Good drive coming from well flexing hindquarters.
Coat - hair

Dense, harsh and weather resisting with good undercoat.
Coat - colour

Black and tan, blue and tan, red, wheaten, red grizzle, liver, blue or black. Small tips of white on feet and chest undesirable but permissible. Mahogany or deep tan not typical.
Size and weight

Height: Not exceeding 37 cm (14 ½ ins) at shoulder. Weight: Dogs 17 lbs (7,7 kg) ; bitches 15 lbs (6,8 kg).
Faults

Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog.

Il Lakeland Terrier è una razza di cani molto antica, originaria della Gran Bretagna, nella regione dei laghi.Probabilmente deriva dall'incrocio della razza Bedglinton terrier con dei terrier neri focati.Viene riconosciuta ufficialmente dal 1928, mentre prima veniva chiamata terrier delle colline.

Testa

ben bilanciata. La lunghezza della testa dallo stop alla punta del tartufo non supera quella dall’occipite allo stop.

Cranio: piatto e ben scolpito
Testa - regione del muso

Tartufo: nero, eccetto nei cani a mantello color fegato nei quali il tartufo può essere fegato. Muso: largo ma non troppo lungo Mascelle/Denti: mascelle potenti. Denti regolari con perfetta, regolare chiusura a forbice, cioè i denti superiori che strettamente si sovrappongono agli inferiori e sono impiantati perpendicolarmente alle mascelle. Occhi: scuri o nocciola. Gli occhi a mandorla sono indesiderabili. Orecchi: moderatamente piccoli, a forma di V e dal portamento vigile. Inseriti non troppo alti né troppo bassi sulla testa.
Collo

Mantello - pelo

denso, duro e impermeabile con buon sottopelo
Mantello - colore

Black and tan, blue and tan, rosso, color grano, rosso brizzolato, fegato, blu o nero. Sono permesse, ma non desiderate, piccole macchie bianche sui piedi e sul torace. Il colore mogano o il tan intenso non sono tipici.
Taglia e peso

Altezza non eccedente i 37cm. alla spalla. Peso Maschi 7,7 kg; Femmine 6,8 kg
Difetti

Qualsiasi deviazione dai punti di cui sopra dovrebbe essere considerata difetto, e la severità con cui questo difetto sarà penalizzato deve essere proporzionala alla sua gravità, e ai suoi effetti sulla salute e sul benessere del cane
